It is a group of people united by common traits, interests and characteristics; a target formed by adults working in a rigid organisation (the military, health structures etc) who have difficulty in reconciling work time with their social and family life.
These groups, even if involved in specific training or in courses connected with their profession, are excluded from permanent training programmes that would allow them to develop an active citizenship as well as basic competences.
For this reason:
the CLAN project (Continuous Learning for Adults with Needs), developed within the Grundtvig programme, intends to give an answer to the need of an increased adult participation to continuous learning.
The objective is to facilitate the access to continuous training to particular categories of adults who at the moment are partly or totally cut off from training programmes. The main aim is the development of a new LLL process with the view of allowing specific sections of the adult population to maintain and update their “key competences”, giving everyone the chance to increase his/her level of self-realisation, active citizenship, participation to social life and job opportunities.
The project also contributes to the increase of training opportunities in continuous learning and the improvement of their quality through the analysis of the needs and the development of “ad hoc” programmes and flexible teaching methods.
