Bulgaria: National Conference of the project
National Round table in Sofia. CEI and DIITT presented results from Bridging Insula Europae. Teachers have used the opportunity to share good practices and experience from their work with web-based platforms for open and distance learning, their students’ progress in respective academic subjects and perspectives for future ICT application for educational purposes. Experts from the regional Inspectorates for education in Sofia City and Sofia Region, as well as principals of schools from the capital were invited to participate in the Round table. The vice-minister of education, Mrs. Svetlana Lomeva, opened the meeting

Meeting with experts regarding LLP projects, including BRIE, held by CEI, DITT and Ministry of Education and Science. The meeting included NGOs, governmental experts and professors from the University of Sofia. CEI and DITT presented the educational platforms of the project BridgingInsula Europae. The Ministry’s experts expressed their heightened interest and appreciation of the work. All the participants discussed the possibilities for the adequate use of the projects’ products and results in the Bulgarian educational reality

The project partners meet to share their experience and the results of the experimentation carried on in the schools involved in each country. The meeting is also important to define the dissemination activities and the main issues for the arrangement of the final conference of the Bridging Insula Europae project.

Portugal , Lisbon - the project partner IMCS Intercollege from Cyprus presented the project on the occasion of the V International Conference on Multimedia and Information Communication Technologies in Education, Portugal, Lisbon 22-24 April 2009.

Bulgaria - Brezovo - the project partner Centre for Educational Initiatives Association conducts a training seminar with teachers and students from Bulgarian schools, participating in the experimental phase of the project. The principal of SOU "Hristo Smirnenski" in Brezovo, the municipality's deputy mayor, the chairman of the local parliament, as well as the governor of Bulgaria's second biggest town - Plovdiv, all took part in the official part of the seminar.

3rd Transnational Meeting in Bulgaria (Sofia)
The meeting with the project Partners is strategic for carrying on with the activities. It will be the occasion to introduce the online leaning environment and the methodology and protocol for the curricula experimentation. Monitoring and implementation strategies for the experimentation activities will be also defined for each participating country.

2nd Bridging Insula Europae Meeting at Tampere, Finland
The second meeting of the project LLP Comenius Bridging Insula Europae will be held in Tampere, Finland on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 October, 2008.
The meeting of the partners will be of strategic importance for the presentation of the results of the first phase of the research and good practices in the field of learning thorough ICT tools carried out in the countries taking part in the project.
The next steps of the project will be defined on the basis of what will have emerged from the meeting in order to develop and experiment a learning environment based on ICT tools to create an ODL (Open Distance Learning) area for the use of new communication technologies seen as learning tools economically and financially sustainable for European schools.
Partner organisations from Italy, Finland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain, Rumania and Sweden will take part in the meeting.

Seminar for schools that have shown interest of participating in the Bridging Insula Europae project. 10 schools from Sofia, Gotse Delchev, Bresovo, Polski Trumbesh, Shumen and Lovech took part in the seminar. The lectors introduced the projects and the way of participating in the activities. Link
